TAREK SERAGELDIN
CFO – FINANCE & MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Tarek ‘s last position is a Regional Chief Financial Officer in GFI Cluster in the FMCG Division of Americana Group, the role scope in businesses of (Canned food, Water, Cakes, Bakeries, and Agencies).
Tarek has 25 years experience with Americana Group through joining different retail/manufacturing subsidiaries of the group in Kuwait, Egypt, and UAE.
In 2007, Tarek was appointed to a CFO role for UAE manufacturing units (Beans and Water businesses), and then the role expanded in 2011 to CFO, GFI Cluster comprises of 6 units in (UAE/Kuwait/KSA/Egypt). His regional role along with the rest of regional team contains setting growth strategies and strengthening units' management structures, developing and follow through of priorities with units to reach to the required goals and functionally evaluating the capital spending and the long-term business decisions, heading the financial management across the units, ensuring solid internal control/governance and sound reporting systems, and leading IT strategy.
Tarek started his career in the finance department to the retail business of food and fashion department stores of Americana Group until 1995 to be head of finance of Kuwait unit along with supporting and preparing the regional reporting and feasibility studies of new openings and expansions in three countries (Kuwait/UAE/KSA).
Throughout his career, Tarek was in-charge of building ERP systems from scratch, applying business integration, Expenditure/Capex management, implementing cost saving and cost rationalization projects, and designing of business financial analysis models and reporting systems that help decision making process and evaluating businesses. Also was involved in assignments such as liquidation of business, splitting businesses, startups and preparing a Kuwait business’s compensation claim file presented to the UN.
Tarek has exposed to plenty of training seminars and workshops exposures like balanced scorecard, financial due diligence and several leadership courses and financial conferences.
Tarek holds a bachelor’s in commerce (Accounting) from Cairo University at ‘87.
